I have recorded a movie/song to my iPod. It appears as iRecord_xx/xx/xx xx:xx in the iPod
play list. How can I rename or delete this movie/song?
You can attach your iPod to your PC/Mac and look under DEVICES (not the local library) in iTunes to browse your iPod contents. From there you can delete/rename the recorded files. There are a number of ways, including the following:
1. To delete a file, simply select the file and press "Delete" key.
2. To rename a file right-click on it in the list and select Get Info in the popup menu. A dialog will pop-up, from here you can change the file name in the info tab.

I record video or audio on my iPod and files are created in
Videos->Movies and Music->Songs play lists but these are not visible
in iTunes local library? Also, if I sync the files are deleted from
iPod.
iTunes works in one direction, i.e. iTunes-> iPod and not the
other way round. Hence, you will not see these in iTunes local
library. Same reasoning goes for iTunes deleting the irecorded
files on forced syncing since there is no history of them in
iTunes. When using iRecord the manual mode of iTunes is enabled
by iRecord to prevent automatic syncing. Of course you can still
move your other contents from iTunes to iPod in manual mode.

I have just bought a USB flash drive but it does not get
recognized by iRecord?
Please format the new flash drive using a PC/Mac (FAT16/32 or
HFS+ file system). Some factory formatted USB flash drives do
not behave properly with iRecord and a re-formatting is
recommended. If your storage media is still not recognized, it
might not be a standard USB 2.0 mass storage device.

After recording process is finished, my USB flash drive
contains 0-byte files.
This happens when iRecord is powered off during the recording
(due to power failure or pulling out the power cord). Recording
process should be stopped manually by pressing RECORD Start/Stop
button. It is safe to power off once the system enters ready
state (indicated by status LED illuminated green).
